Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery Widely Over Reported

Thursday March 16, 2006

There are finally some statistics to back up something I've been pointing out for a while; vaginal cosmetic surgery (or “vaginal rejuvenation” as it's called) is far from one of the "fastest growing sectors" of cosmetic surgery.

Statistics released today by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show that where were 800 vaginal rejuvenation procedures done in 2005, which represents .04% of all the surgical cosmetic procedures done last year. For the bigger picture, it represents a .007% of all cosmetic procedures (which include non-surgical procedures such as Botox).

This isn't to say that those are 800 vaginal rejuvenation procedures too many, but it will hopefully make it a bit more difficult for editors and journalists to fabricate stories for our misinformation and amusement.
