$pread Magazine: Illuminating the sex industry one reader at a time
What most of us know about sex work could fit on two sides of a very small coin. Sex work is either endlessly titillating or irretrievably horrifying; it’s the scourge of your neighborhood or a Hollywood stereotype we can all enjoy. Whatever cliché editors choose to employ, sex work, and the real people who pay for sex and get paid to have sex, seem to get lost in the shuffle, keeping the rest of us (well those of us who aren’t on either end of the transaction) in the dark.
$pread Magazine, a glossy, quarterly magazine by and for sex workers has been doing an amazing job of shining some much needed light onto the subject of sex work, and offering its readers stories of sex work that reject the clichés and confound expectations in wonderful ways. Plus it’s funny, sexy, smart, and is responsible for public events such as an upcoming art show titled One Sex Worker Nation Under Dildo. So how can you resist?
