Lesbian Books are Not a Sleep Aid
Kathy Belge, About.com’s Lesbian Life Guide alerted me to a situation all lesbian book lovers need to be aware of. If your kids “accidentally” get hold of a highly recommended book about lesbian sexuality and women’s health, it could result in many sleepless nights. From a news item on 365gay.com:
A Bentonville, Arkansas man is demanding the city pay him $20,000 for the pain and suffering of his sons after they discovered a book on lesbian sex in their local library.
"[They were] greatly disturbed" said Earl Adams his letter to the city. "[We had] many sleepless nights in our house."
Adams wants $10,000 per child, the maximum allowed under the Arkansas obscenity law.
As Belge points out, this would be hilariously funny if it weren’t ultimately about getting sexual health books, specifically queer sexual health books, out of the public library system.

I bet Arkansas man’s sons wouldn’t describe their find as particularly painful. Could it be that they weren’t sleeping because they were masturbating? They are 14 and 16 after all.
The question is, when they did finally sleep, was it more restful and satisfying?
