The Start of Baby Making Season?
Someone recently wrote me an email pointing out that this site, which is supposed to cover all aspects of sex, deals a lot more with non-procreative sex than sex which this reader referred to (unfortunately in my opinion) as “baby making sex”. They’re absolutely right of course. I’d like to think this is intentional, and a reflection of the fact that most of the sex that happens on the planet is not for procreative purposes (in fact most of the sex we have is with ourselves).
The timing of this email was, well, timely. Demographically speaking, we're about to enter the start of the busiest season of procreation. With some consistency birthrates in the U.S. tend to be highest in the late summer/early fall months, about nine months from now. Whether that’s because the cold weather moves everyone indoors (literally and figuratively) or because they’re timing pregnancy to their work schedule (a more likely explanation) I figured it was time to tip the scales a bit and talk about some sexual health issues for the baby making set (and that, I promise, will be the last time I use that phrase).
This week’s tip is on why you have to say goodbye to your favorite lubricant if you’re trying to say hello to pregnancy.
