Fresh Focus Video Contest Finalists Announced: Vote for Your Favorite

Last September the folks behind the Fresh Focus Video Contest posed the following question to budding young sex educators and filmmakers:

Why is sex so interesting and sex education so boring?

There received over sixty entries, all interesting and thoughtful in their own ways (and all available for viewing online). They’ve selected ten finalists and you can check them out, and vote for your favorite, on the Fresh Focus page on Dogooder.tv (don't delay, voting ends on the 16th).

While the responses differ wildly in content and style; from hi to low tech, from dramatic to funny, the message is pointedly consistent. We all need comprehensive sex education. We all need people to talk to who will listen and answer our questions honestly. We need people to talk to who are willing to acknowledge our feelings about sex. The creativity and humor of the entries themselves points to one more thing we desperately need: more fun in our sex education.

The winning entry receives a $3500 scholarship to launch their sex ed. video making career. So whether you consider yourself a youth, or just remember being one, take a few minutes, visit the site, and help celebrate the next generation of sex educators who will live on less than $30,000 a year and be scorned by their communities. We all need at least a few minutes in the sun.
