My favorite thing about About.com Health is that all the information you read on our sites is created by individuals with a personal connection to their subject matter. The results can sometimes be hit and miss, but without a doubt you get answers to questions here that many other health sites ignore.
This is particularly relevant for sex content, since most people who work in health don’t really think about sex (at least professionally), and when they do it’s usually related to not getting a disease or not getting pregnant. The result is that most sexual health content is written for a general audience in a general tone, with results both boring and often unresponsive to our actual needs.
I can think of no better example of how About.com Guides do it differently than Nancy Lapid, our intrepid Guide to Celiac Disease. Nancy recently noticed several people searching for an answer to a specific, and relatively obscure, question on her site. It was a question almost without an answer, but she did her homework, and offered her readers at least a starting point to answer to this celiac dilemma.
