I was flipping through eMusic the other day searching for musicals and I came across an entire disc of orgasm sounds. That didn't surprise me so much, but I scrolled down to the bottom of the page where the site links to relevant YouTube content, and that's where I found "Meet The Old Lady Behind The Sounds In Porno Flicks!". I was annoyed by the isn't-it-freaky-when-someone-over-30-does-sex-work tone of the headline, but intrigued by what it could be, so I clicked.
It looks like a clip from Vox, a German television channel, from some larger story about porn, or maybe a profile of the woman featured. Whatever it is, it's a funny and eye opening 48 seconds behind the curtain of German porn production.
It's no more likely to ruin porn for you than knowing about airbrushing would make flipping through any magazine a disappointment. Our capacity for denial is one of the cornerstone's of the modern entertainment industry.
And I have to say that the porn sets I've been on have recorded live sound and used it without embellishment (the embellishment coming in the live sounds which were far louder and more enthusiastic than called for, based on what the actors said after the fact).
Still, it was a nice surprise when what I was really looking for was the original cast recording of Jesus Christ Superstar.
