By October 9, 2013

Follow me on:

This weekend if you're near Oakland, California the multi-membered, multi-talented, and multi-faceted performance company Sins Invalid is hosting a preview of their forthcoming film Sins Invalid: An Unshamed Claim to Beauty. Sins is dedicated to "centralizing artists of color and queer and gender variant artists as communities who have been historically marginalized from social discourse" and since 2006 they have been producing a yearly show that combines storytelling, music, dance, and theater celebrating their underlying belief that "beauty always, always recognizes itself." More information and tickets are available here.

If you can't make it to Oakland or want to know more about Sins, check out this interview I conducted with co-founders Patricia Berne and Leroy Moore: When It Comes to Sex, Are Your Sins Invalid?
