Sue Johanson was a nurse by training and was an early advocate for offering honest, direct, and entertaining sexual health education and services. She fought for access to birth control before it was legal, and is a recipient of the Order of Canada for her many years of service to public health and sexual health in Canada. Sue had a radio show and later a television call in show called the Sunday Night Sex Show with Sue Johanson.
In 2002 she began a show called Talk Sex specifically for the United States and became a wildly popular television personality. She is the author of several books on sex and her name and show were attached to a line of sex toys by California Exotic Novelties.
In 2008 Sue retired from radio and television but she continues to speak at universities and colleges across North America on the topic of sexuality and sexual health.

[Disclosure note: the Sexuality Guide formerly worked as a "sex toy wrangler" for the producers of both of Sue's shows]
