Lubricants are the most visual of sex toys, and unlike a butt plug harness or nipple clamps, lube is relatively well known and easy to access. These days most drug stores carry multiple brands, and you can buy lube from Amazon as well as from your local sex shop.
Having said that, personal lubricants still go largely unrecognized for their contribution to sex play. Lube makes sex wetter, more sensitive, and in almost all cases safer.
