Question: How Do I Find a Sexual Health Clinic?
Answer:

Sexual health clinics vary widely in the services they offer. Most sexual health clinics offer STD services (diagnosis, treatment and counseling), birth control services (help choosing the right form, providing a prescription for birth control), and referrals to other services (e.g. abortion clinics, sexual assault clinics, relationship counseling, etc…). A sexual health clinic may only offer these services, or it might be part of a larger center or hospital where they offer sexual health services on certain days at certain times. If you’re worried about what to expect, give the clinic a call and ask.

If you’re looking for a sexual health clinic near you, try these online and telephone directories:

Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood has a clinic finder on their homepage, as well as a toll free number (1-800-230-7526) you can call to find out if there’s a Planned Parenthood clinic near you.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The CDC offers a toll free hotline (1-800-311-3435) that will direct you to an STD clinic in your area. These clinics may or may not offer other services like counseling on sexual health issues, but they should be able to refer you somewhere else in your area if they do not offer what you’re looking for.
CDC sexually transmitted disease clinic hotline: 800-311-3435

National Family and Reproductive Health Association
An association of family planning clinics, many of which are called “Title X clinics” because they are funded by Title X -- the only federally funded program dedicated to family planning for low-income and uninsured people. Their site offers a link to a clinic directory.

Feminist Women’s Health Center
Since 1980 this not-for-profit organization has been supporting health centers for women. Their website contains links to clinics in twelve states.
