Question: What are Vegan Condoms?
I’m looking for the perfect gift for a friend of mine who just got into a new relationship and is vegan. I’ve heard about vegan condoms, but don’t understand what they are. If condoms are made of latex, where do animals come into the picture? I remember hearing about lambskin condoms, but most condoms aren’t made from animals are they?
Answer: Most condoms are definitely not made of lambskin. Trojan Naturalamb condoms are the only condom on the market that is made from natural membrane, all other condoms are made from either latex or polyurethane. Apparently there is a milk protein used in the manufacturing of latex for many condoms, and this is the main concern for vegans as I understand it. But there are vegan condom alternatives , so if you hurry, you may still be able to find that perfect gift.
