PDA or Sex in Public?

Tuesday October 13, 2009

Author, educator, and writer of all things at mysexprofessor.com, Debby Herbenick recently pointed readers to the site IJustMadeLove.com. It's a cute idea (I especially like the icons to denote the six different languages the site is available in), a little clunky in execution, but I love how Debby's mind works as she lays out the pros, cons, and potential for the project.

When I started writing for About.com I was surprised by how many questions I got about sex in public, and more broadly displays of affection in public. Until I started thinking about it. Like almost any sex question, when you scratch the surface you find it's a topic that links to all sorts of intimate and individual experiences of love, the self, identity, and meaning. One of my first efforts in responding to readers queries was to try and unpack the difference between sex in public and public displays of affection. Here's what I came up with.
